Get Ready! Various Hotels Will Offer Discount Packages During Ramadan to Eid Holidays

javaprivatetour.com – Planning a trip to Java during Ramadan or Lebaran? Get ready for an unforgettable experience filled with cultural immersion, delicious cuisine, and stunning landscapes. And with the upcoming hotel discounts and special packages, there’s no better time to book your adventure.

As we gear up for the upcoming Ramadan and Eid holidays, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is encouraging hoteliers to prepare discounted accommodation packages and iftar packages during the holy month of Ramadan to tackle the anticipated low season and to prepare for the Eid al-Fitr holiday rush.

According to Nia Niscaya, the Tourism and Creative Economy Expert of the Ministry, during “The Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno” at Sapta Pesona Building, Central Jakarta, on Monday (4/3/2024), the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) has forecasted a decline in the arrival of foreign tourists and domestic travelers during Ramadan from March 10 to April 9, 2024.

This is expected to impact the occupancy rate of starred hotel rooms, particularly in major cities like Jakarta.

However, PHRI anticipates high hotel occupancy rates during the 2024 Eid holidays. This projection is based on the overall improvement in the hospitality sector in Indonesia in 2024.

Additionally, the forecast is based on PHRI data regarding hotel occupancy rates ahead of Eid al-Fitr in 2023, where the occupancy in several hotels in favorite tourist destinations was already over 70 percent.

Anticipating the Low Season

In light of this, Nia urges hotel operators to provide discounts of up to 40 percent on rooms and other discounted packages such as iftar gatherings at hotels. This strategy aims to maintain hotel room occupancy despite facing a low season.

“When it’s low season, it’s better to sell at a large discount of up to 40 percent. It’s much more profitable if the occupancy is only 30 percent because fasting Muslims in Indonesia typically refrain from traveling during Ramadan. However, a significant surge in travelers is predicted during Eid,” Nia said.

Nia further stated that by offering these discount packages, hotels can prepare for the availability of rooms during the Eid al-Fitr holiday. Considering the prediction from the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps, the number of Eid holiday travelers in 2024 is estimated to reach 200 million people, a 6 percent increase compared to the 187 million travelers in 2023.

“Additionally, the Minister of Transportation also predicts a 70 percent increase in the number of holiday travelers this year,” Nia added.

Experience the Warmth of Indonesian Hospitality

During Ramadan, hotels across Java will be offering up to 40% off on room rates. This is a fantastic opportunity to experience the best of Indonesian hospitality at a fraction of the usual cost.

In addition to discounted rooms, many hotels will also be offering Ramadan-themed packages that include:

  • Sumptuous Iftar buffets featuring traditional Indonesian dishes
  • Special prayers and religious activities
  • Cultural performances and events
