Kerak Telor (Egg crust) is an authentic food from Jakarta, with ingredients of white glutinous rice, chicken eggs, ebi (marinated dried shrimp) and dry fried, added with fried onion which is fried, then given a spice that is mashed in the form of fried grated coconut, Red chili, galangal, ginger, pepper, salt and sugar.

The egg crust can be found on a normal day, and you can find this egg crust around Kota Tua, West Jakarta.  Historically, the Egg Crust had existed from the Dutch colonial era, the egg crust was created by the people of Jakarta (Betawi) by accident, this food was served at parties and a big celebration of the rich at that time.  The more time passes, the presence of western culinary shifts the charm of this egg crust.
